Aligning Your Soul with Your Spirit
Part 1: The Alignment that Changes Everything
October 19, 2025
In my book, White Coat Revival (now being released January 2026), I wrote about 7 alignments to draw into God and His perfect plan He has for you. In the next few newsletters, we are going to talk about aligning our soul (mind, will, emotions, knowledge, conscious and subconscious thinking) with our spirit (the God-breathed part of us where God’s presence dwells within us).
Alignment is not balance—it’s partnership.
In today’s medical world, we often strive for work-life balance, harmony between faith and science, or even emotional neutrality. But alignment goes deeper. It is when your soul (your mind, will, and emotions) submits and synchronizes with your spirit—your God-breathed identity. It’s not equilibrium. It’s obedience. It’s partnership with the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16).
Your original design still matters.
You didn’t choose your profession in medicine by accident. Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.” That desire to heal, to help, to make things whole—it came from God. The fatigue you feel now may be from drifting out of alignment with that design. God is not asking you to work harder—He’s inviting you to align deeper.
Without alignment, authority is hindered.
When our soul resists our spirit, we operate from fear, striving, or burnout. But Romans 15:13 reminds us, “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing.” Hope is a result of alignment. Joy is evidence of His Spirit leading. Authority to speak life, to heal, to see beyond symptoms—it flows not from your effort but your alignment with Him.
Scriptures to Anchor Your Soul
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5 NKJV
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” — Ephesians 2:10 NKJV
Alignment Pause:
Take 5 minutes today. Sit in stillness. Place your hand on your heart and ask God: “Lord, I desire for my soul (my thoughts) to be aligned to the spirit you gave me. Please show me anything that is hindering that.”
Let God reveal where your soul may be leading instead of following. Journal whatever you see, feel, sense, or hear during this moment. Repent (turn away from) and release that mis-guiding stronghold. Keep your eyes on God’s goodness and favor for you as you navigate through your day.
May the Lord bless you and keep you, may His face shine upon you and give you peace!
